Welcome to my blog. The purpose of this blog is to explore aspects of health and healing that are not generally considered part of mainstream medicine. In general, this conversation will be based on experiences and observations that arise from my own practice (www.dr-seth.com), which is focused on osteopathic manipulative medicine, cranial osteopathy (which differs from craniosacral therapy – more on that later), medical acupuncture, and integrative medicine.
I have also developed an interest in energy healing work. Although osteopathy and acupuncture also make use of inherent healing energy from within the body (such as primary respiration in the case of cranial osteopathy and Qi in the case of acupuncture), we also exist in a universal energy field that can be utilized in the service of healing the whole person. There are some truly amazing healers out there, people whose skill as healers are true gifts to humankind. In upcoming posts I hope to highlight some of those I’ve come into contact with (whether personally or through my reading and discourse with colleagues), as well as to discuss the fascinating research that is reaching the literature that appears to support work on this level.
It is my hope to begin a dialogue on these subjects, and other related topics, with my patients, my colleagues in the healing and medical professions, and the general public. Welcome!
